Nine years after the femicide of Lucía Pérez, the space that bears her name has become a symbol of restorative justice and collective healing.

“La Casa de Lucía” is a space of support and care for women victims of gender-based violence in Mar del Plata, inaugurated in tribute to Lucía Pérez, a teenager who was murdered in 2016. The house was granted by the Argentine State after being recovered from a drug trafficking network and rebuilt thanks to the efforts of Lucía’s family and collaborators.
Through “Bien Restituido”, with the support of the Delegation of the European Union in Argentina, we helped rebuild the house, which was in very poor condition. The goal of our project is clear and embodied in the enormous effort and commitment of Marta and Guillermo, Lucía’s parents: to recover and reuse assets seized from organized crime in order to repair, even slightly, the harm caused by criminals.
Lucía Pérez was a 16-year-old girl who was drugged, raped, and murdered in Mar del Plata on October 8, 2016. In a controversial first trial (2018), the accused, Matías Farías and Juan Pablo Offidani, were acquitted of femicide and sexual assault and only convicted for drug dealing. That ruling was overturned in 2020 for its lack of a gender perspective, and a new trial was ordered. The second trial (2023) resulted in convictions for femicide. However, in February 2025, the Court of Cassation removed the femicide charge, overturning Farías’ life sentence and maintaining only the conviction for sexual assault. Lucía’s family has appealed this decision and continues their fight for justice.
