The official launch of LABURO in Argentina took place in the Palermo neighborhood of Buenos Aires. It is an international project that brings together art, work, social economy, and community commitment to confront the advance of drug trafficking, in collaboration with organizations and artists from Argentina, Italy, and Côte d’Ivoire.
Dozens of people came out to support the launch.

Dozens of people gathered in Palermo with a shared goal: to discover the first products of this international brand against organized crime. LABURO is a brand developed jointly with the San Cayetano Cooperative (Argentina), the graphic company Pibiesse (Italy), and the textile project Dawnlight, based in Côte d’Ivoire.

LABURO was created to challenge the meaning and practices of the economy in the face of organized crime. It starts from a clear premise: criminal economies grow stronger where formal employment, decent incomes, and productive alternatives disappear.

In this context, LABURO positions itself as a concrete proposal that places the real economy at the center, generating value through collective, transparent work with social impact. At the same time, the brand does not give up on design, quality, critical perspective, or sustainability.

With urban proposals for everyday use — T-shirts and tote bags — born from an international illustration contest and original designs, LABURO focuses on comfortable, authentic garments with a strong social commitment. Each piece critically and genuinely addresses the culture and aesthetics of organized crime from a constructive, everyday perspective. The designs share a common color palette of red, blue, black, pink, and moss green. One of the lines features exclusive prints selected across three continents, giving the collection a distinctive and unique identity.

Each garment is part of a story built through work and determination, where tradition meets new ways of creating. The challenge ahead is to continue expanding the project and to consolidate a brand that combines design, innovation, and social commitment.

THE LAUNCH

The event took place at Multiespacio JXI, where the brand’s original designs were offered for sale and the winning illustrations from the international contest were presented. Guests also had the opportunity to see part of the T-shirt and tote bag production process live.

In Argentina, production and commercialization are carried out by the San Cayetano Cooperative. Its president, Rosario Anchorena, stated: “It is about feeling that what we do every day has value, that we are part of something bigger—a network of work that crosses borders and shares the same dreams: building community, inclusion, and dignity.”

Meanwhile, Milagros González Singer, project coordinator, noted: “This launch is a step forward. We believe that ‘more work, fewer narcos’ is not a slogan—it’s a commitment. And when that message is carried by quality garments people like, it multiplies.”

One of LABURO’s core pillars is its tangible community impact. For this reason, the brand is also releasing a special edition of T-shirts and tote bags, sold in a box that includes stickers and informational material about the organizations in the three countries and the ‘+LABURO -NARCOS’ campaign. 21% of the sales from this edition will support Sparta Waterpolo in the city of Rosario—an area reclaimed from drug trafficking that now hosts a sports and social project promoting inclusion, teamwork, and access to sport.

The designs selected through the contest are part of a special, socially committed line.

In Italy, the same approach is being applied. A percentage of the sales from the special-edition boxes will go to Terra di Confine, a community organization in the Ponticelli neighborhood on the outskirts of Naples, dedicated to territorial education, social work, and social anti-mafia initiatives.

The launch of LABURO marks the beginning of a collective journey, aimed at bringing together more actors, highlighting good practices, and consolidating a serious and strategic agenda to confront organized crime through authentic, exclusive, and creative products. Argentina represents the first step of an international initiative with a multi-territorial projection.
